AHSHA Locker Room Policy

LOCKER ROOM POLICY

Arizona Hockey is committed to creating a safe and positive environment for player's physical, emotional and social development, and ensuring it promotes an environment free of misconduct.

Players are vulnerable to misconduct in the locker rooms and changing areas due to various stages of dress / undress and because they are often less supervised than at other times.  Adherence to a locker room policy enhances privacy and reduces the likelihood of misconduct.  Accordingly, everyone shall adhere to this locker room policy at all times.

The locker room and similar sensitive player use areas should be a safe and appropriated environment for ALL members.  Players using the locker room should keep in mind the locker room is for storage and active preparation for hockey clinics, practice or games.  The locker room is NOT a lounge or social area. Players wishing to socialize or pass time between sessions should use the public areas of the rink.
No illegal substances as determined by the rink shall be brought into or used in the locker room. In addition, players are not to bring any type of vaping devices, products or tobacco substances into the locker room.

As per USA Hockey guidelines, cell phones and other mobile devices with recording capabilities, including voice recording, still cameras and video cameras, are not permitted to be used in the locker room. If phones or other mobile devices must be used, they should be taken outside of the locker room.

Players will not participate in bullying, fighting, locker boxing, hazing or harassment either before or after an AHSHA sanctioned event (i.e. clinic, practice, games, etc.) while in the locker room.

AHSHA locker rooms are a restricted access area when they are being used for clinics, practices or games.  In the event adult authorized for locker room access when in use by our players, including coaches, team officials, parents, AHSHA Rink Coordinators (RC's) or agents require entry to the locker room to assist a player or carry out a legitimate function on behalf of the player, team or as a function of the RC duties, they must FIRST KNOCK AND ANNOUNCE themselves and their request for permission to enter so anyone in the locker room will know of their presence, who they are , and their intention to enter and be able to react accordingly.  The locker room entrant should always wait a reasonable amount of time for an answer and then may permissibly enter the locker room.
