DOCUMENTS and TRAINING REQUIRED for COACHES


Below is a list of documents and training required to become an approved AHSHA Coach.  Coaches that have not fully met all of the required documents and training will be placed on administrative suspension and are ineligible to be on the ice, on the bench or in the locker room until all requirements are met.

  1. Complete and submit the AHSHA Team Staff Application- TEAM STAFF APPLICATION 
  2. The following USA Hockey requirements must be met- USA Hockey

    1. Current year USA Hockey Registration 
    2. USA Hockey Coaches Education Program (CEP): Must enroll each year until the coach has obtained a minimum Level 3 CEP by December 31.
    3. USA Hockey Age Specific Module  ~ this must be completed prior to participating in any team activities, a coach cannot be added to a team roster until this has been completed.
    4. USA Hockey Safe Sport Training (YEARLY)
  3. Submit to background screening every two years through USA Hockey. Background Screening

  4. All coaches will be required to complete “Concussion in Sports – What you need to know”:
                              
    National Federation of State High School Assocation (NFHS).

All AHSHA Head Coaches must be approved by the AHSHA Executive Committe prior to the start of every fall season to be eligible to be in the locker room, on the ice or on the bench with the team.  All other coaches are approved by the COACHING COMMITTEE.
