GOALIE CALL UP/CALL DOWN POLICY

Lower-Level Goalies may be called up to a Higher-Level team to ensure two goalies are dressed for the game. The current Call-Up Procedure shall be used, however there is no limit to calling up a goaltender. Either goalie is eligible to play at the coach’s discretion.

Teams may roster 1 Goalie down to their lower level team to serve as a back up goalie.

If a team wants to add 2 lower-level goalies to the roster, one will take a Call Down Goalie spot, and one must occupy a normal roster spot.

Higher Level Goalies may be called down to a Lower-Level team only to serve as a back-up goalie. The higher-level goalie may not enter the game unless the starting lower-level goalie is injured.

For Higher level teams with two goaltenders, one must be designated as the option to call down as a back-up. This goalie must be named on the 30 man roster.

Goalie Call Ups/Call Downs do not count against the  call up limit.

If it is known in advance that the Lower-Level Goalie cannot participate, the current Substitute Goalie Policy must be used.

Goalie Call Down rules are not applicable for Playoff games. A back-up goalie must be acquired through the Sub Goalie Policy.

Call ups and Call downs are only applicable to the next level team in the program. (ex. Cannot call up a D3 goalie to D1 if the program has a D2 team.)

If a Higher-Level Goalie plays in a Lower Division game due to an injury, you must notify kmcginley@arizonahighschoolhockey.com within 24 hours after the game.

*If these rules are abused or used for any purpose other than intended, the program will face disciplinary action
