AHSHA FALL 2021-2022 FALL HOCKEY INFORMATION

Arizona High School Hockey Association (AHSHA) in partnership with the Arizona Coyotes will be entering into its 22nd year of operation providing an opportunity for ice hockey players to participate in a competitive High School Hockey League representing their High School.

Fall League Dates: August 2021 – February 2022

Competitive Divisions:
Varsity D1
Varsity D2
Varsity D3
JV

Players currently enrolled in grades 9 through 12 as full-time students who attend an Arizona high school, middle school, junior high, charter school, home school or online school are eligible to participate in the Arizona High School hockey league provided they meet USA Hockey's current minimum specified age for first year Bantams and are not more than one year over the specified age for Midgets.  Eligibility shall not exceed eight (8) consecutive semesters starting with the player's freshman year.  For Home-schooled students, the term "attend" shall mean that the student is enrolled at a high school and is designated as carrying sufficient credits to be considered a full time student for which credit toward high school graduation will be granted by the high school upon the student's completing and passing the courses.  The school, which enrolls the student, shall be exclusively responsible for verifying the student's compliance with all the eligibility requirements.  Players who graduate from high school during the fall season are no longer full-time students and therefore are not eligible to play High School hockey, effective on their last day of attending classes full time.

Note:  AHSHA does not have Try-Outs, all registered players will be assigned to a team.

Players who attend a high-school that has a "pure" high school team(s) will automatically be assigned to their high school team.

Players who attend a public high school that does not have a pure high school team will be assigned to either a combined high school varsity or junior varsity team based on skill level or geographic requirements.

If a coach determines that a player lacks the skills needed to particpate on a varsity team and the school does not have a sufficient number of players to have a junior varsity team, the player will be placed on a lower level combined team or JV team.  The Competition or Executive Committee will evaluate player if deemed necessary.  Players moved to a lower level team are premitted to practice with the varsity team if approved by the varsity head coach and the varsity practice does not interfere with the lower level team practice.  Practicing with the varsity team does not take priority over the player's assigned team.

If a player gets moved to a lower level team this it is for their own safety and development.   Refunds are not allowed
